Hello Muggles!
I'm going to tell you something that you already know... the advice disease is real!!
Now whether you're looking for a new car, new place to live or even new clothes, you know this to be very true. Everyone has an opinion and if you even close to voice that you are doing anything, everyone that has the advice disease will let you know what you need to do.
I knew that when I was getting married that the advice disease runs strong in a lot of people. What I think is most hilarious is that when I actually would ask for advice, all those people disappeared and the "Do what you want to do" people showed up. I was warned that when I got pregnant that it was going to be worse. That was not a lie.
Since being pregnant I have gotten so much unsolicited advice. In fact, one status that I posted on facebook said "Unsolicited advice. #PreggoProblems", which generated even MORE unsolicited advice. But don't worry, because everyone that gives you advice is telling you "What you really need to know." I had people tell me 'Omg you're going to get so much advice, but what you really need to know is....' and then proceed to give me advice!!! Those are the people that really make me laugh and roll my eyes simultaneously.
Everyone thinks they they have the best advice and you just have to take it with a grain of salt. They are more than likely just telling you what worked best for them because they already heard a lot of advice themselves and found what worked for them. The only people that I would say to definitely not listen to, are the people that are living through others pregnancies. It's nice that your sister was pregnant and dealt with stuff, but you're not a parent, you haven't been pregnant so literally I stopped listening to you the second your started to try to give me advice. HAHA!
Ultimately, despite all the advice, you're going to find what's best for you. If you've found what's best for you, don't post about it on facebook, because then you're just going to get more advice despite saying that you've found what's best for you.
That's all for now. Thanks for reading!
Beware of the Advice Monsters!! <3
Just posted a question asking for advice (lol) - i received every angle possible from drink water to go to the ER! God gave you a brain. Give credence to the ones you trust and ignore the rest, and know they really do mean well....most of the time...
ReplyDeleteThis is why I seldom post anything on social media. Everyone is an expert!!! It gets worse when you have kids...so here is my advice...Just kidding. ;-)
